外来語の表記
一般の社会生活において現代の国語を書き表すための「外来語の表記」のよりどころを、次のように定める。

前書き
１ この『外来語の表記』は，法令，公用文書，新聞，雑誌，放送など，一般の社会生活において，現代の国語を書き表すための「外来語の表記」のよりどころを示すものである。
２ この『外来語の表記』は，科学，技術，芸術その他の各種専門分野や個々人の表記にまで及ぼそうとするものではない。
３ この『外来語の表記』は，固有名詞など(例えば，人名，会社名，商品名等)でこれによりがたいものには及ぼさない。
４ この『外来語の表記』は，過去に行われた様々な表記(「付」参照)を否定しようとするものではない。
